Strategy Development and Change Communications

“The Diocese of Oxford is one of the largest dioceses of the Church of England with over a thousand churches, chaplaincies and schools across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Kate Nicholas has been an invaluable external consultant as we have developed and discerned fresh vision for the Diocese over recent months. Kate has helped us to develop an emergent energizing process, offering both support and challenge at key moments in the journey. We are on the way to articulating a clear vision to become a more contemplative, compassionate and courageous Church for the communities we are called to serve”.

The Rt. Revd. Dr. Steven Croft, Bishop of Oxford

"Kate Nicholas is a skillful practitioner in the facilitation of strategy development and change management. She has used her knowledge and experience to support us in our planning and communication, which has optimized its effectiveness while retaining our distinctive character and ethos. Kate has provided a valuable service mentoring and advising senior leaders in the change process, she has also gathered and analyzed feedback from a wide variety of groups and has facilitated small group planning days very effectively. It has been great working with her".

Rosemary Pearce, Diocesan Secretary.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kate recently on a strategic review at the Anglican clergy support charity Sons & Friends of the Clergy. She is an excellent communicator and strategic thinker who quickly gets to the heart of the matter. Trustees and management were impressed by her facilitation skills and her understanding of the strategic environment within which the charity operates. She is also very engaging and likeable, as well as being values-driven. I look forward to working with Kate again.

‘Open and kind-hearted’, ‘gifted communicator’, and ‘captivating story teller’ are just a few of the phrases that come to mind when I think of Kate. They are, in fact, the qualities that initially drew me to her. She is a brilliant, creative, and experienced business consultant who I have had the good fortune of working with in the beginning stages of restructuring my start-up business. The advice Kate provided helped me gain clarity of strategic objectives, branding, and KPIs. Her knowledge of creative industries and the charity sector is excellent and meant she could quickly get to the heart of my specific challenges and present viable solutions. I would definitely seek Kate for business consultation again and highly recommend her services.

PottersHeart is a small Charity. It has been registered for two years, and whilst a great deal of life changing work has been achieved, there was a sense of big vision but stuck in a rut as to how to move forward. One session with Kate Nicholas completely changed all that. She managed to listen intently for two hours, summarized the content in ten minutes………. this lady has amazing clarity and sharp edged strategic thinking. She was able to put her finger on the obvious that PottersHeart had completely missed, they were ignoring their USP! Just one session changed the modus operandi, and the results are incredible.

Communications Reviews and Training

We were very impressed with the recent training Kate delivered for us. Kate listened to our brief and delivered a programme that was specifically tailored to our needs. The training was of a high quality, and delivered in a personal manner which helped put the team at ease and enabled everyone to contribute. The lessons learnt have been invaluable and we are definitely reaping the benefits from our training day. I can’t recommend Kate highly enough.

World Class Storytelling

We commissioned Kate at very short notice to assist in the composition of a large, multi-layered report. She not only turned the brief round quickly and effectively, identifying the key themes and delivering a compelling narrative which has been praised by our customers, but was easy and fun to work with.

I met Kate in January when she came to us for an afternoon tea book reading from Sea Changed. Having seen the cafe and chatted over our vision, we asked her to put together a document -which could be used to show what we stood for, as we shared with other, not always Christian, organisations - which she did. I thoroughly endorse this lovely lady and her command of the English language!
